EACH CLASS IN C.B.S. WALKED TO BALLYANNON WOOD TO MARK THE SECOND YEAR OF OUR ACTIVE SCHOOLS FLAG PROGRAMME. A GREAT DAY WAS HAD BY ALL PUPILS AND STAFF INVOLVED. BE WISE......EXERCISE!!! We are delighted to welcome our new Active School Committee members for 2015/2016. Our new members are from all classes in our school, ranging from first class to sixth class.
Remember, Be Wise......Exercise!!!! The boys of Midleton C.B.S. Primary recently performed their own fantastic version of the haka! The pupils and staff at Midleton C.B.S. enjoyed a fantastic first "Active School Week". The week was part of our Active Schools Programme which has proved hugely successful this year.
Every class in the school was treated to two active sessions a day, indoors and outdoors. Some of these included basketball, rounders, rugby, health and exercise and station training. A special thank you must be given to Noel Ryan (basketball), Midleton Rugby club and Midleton Health and Fitness for their fantastic support, advice and encouragement to the pupils and staff at our wonderful school. Another special mention must be given to all of the pupils from 5th and 6th classes who did an amazing job of teaching "The Haka" to every class in the school. The objective was to have a "Whole School Haka" on Friday outside on the big yard. This was a massive success and was captured brilliantly on video by Mr. Cronin. We would like to thank everyone who made this week so special and enjoyable and we are already looking forward to Active School Week 2016 On Monday and Tuesday of this week each pupil ran a lap of the school as part of our School Marathon fundraiser. You can tell by the pictures that the event was a great success. Many thanks to all who contributed money to this worthy cause. Midleton C.B.S. Primary is running the marathon as part of our Active School Programme and to raise funds for the Donal Walsh Live Life Foundation. This event will take place on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th of November.
More details to follow...... As part of our Active Schools launch, all of our fantastic pupils were asked to create an active motto and active artwork during the month of September. The response from every class was absolutely incredible with quite a number of pupils entering both the motto and artwork competitions. The ASF members would like to say a massive thank you to all the pupils who entered and to all of our wonderful teachers for providing our pupils with the time and resources needed to enter the competitions. The overall motto winner was...... The artwork winners were.....
