Spring has arrived in the school garden and the Green schools garden group are busily preparing the soil for planting. The window boxes are finally displaying rows of healthy daffodils which were planted in the early days of last autumn. These are the first sign of colour in the garden and indeed a very welcome sight after the gales. During the recent fine weather we got the opportunity to plant onions and garlic and are hoping for healthy crops again this year. The fruiting section of the garden is well established by now with a blueberry bush raspberry canes and a very vigorous apple tree. As temperatures rise we will plant some salad crops in the sunniest corner of the garden .This year for the first time we intend planting a section of the garden with cereal crops which should yield an interesting harvest when pupils return after the summer holidays.
